INTEGRATING SPATIAL COST PATH AND MULTI-CRITERIA ANALYSIS FOR FINDING ALTERNATIVE ROUTES DURING FLOODING

Route accessibility is essential infrastructure, facilitating more convenient transit for individuals. Nonetheless, the seasonal monsoon can lead to flooding and impair of local transportation, especially in hilly-lowland areas. This study aims investigate an alternative route access safe travel from Kota Marudu Kinabalu, Sabah, during floods with GIS path analysis MCDA method. The slope, rainfall, land cover /land use (LULC), distance river density were utilized construct flood susceptibility map using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), while was applied find accessible routes. There are two other routes region, one which may be as a suitable route. A new should considered create roads higher area. alternate suggested beneficial tool caution rainy season. As flood's extent simply estimate, it only possible forecast event, sometimes result unexpected tragedy.
